Thanks Giving to God

Thanks Giving to God

What is thanksgiving?

According to the gratitude dictionary it is: recognition of a person by someone who has given him a benefit, an aid, a favor etc .; acknowledgment.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THANKSGIVING?

The Bible says that we should be grateful at all times, because that is God's will (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

Why do we give thanks?

Because it pleases God - we were created to praise God (Psalms 145:10).
Because we have many reasons - we have the salvation and promise of eternal life in Jesus, even if everything else in life looks bad (Ephesians 1:3-6).
Because it changes our mindset - when we give thanks for the good things, we learn to value them and do not give so much importance to the bad things (Ephesians 5:4).
Because God blesses - God gives those who know how to value blessings (Luke 19:26).

How can youI develop gratitude?

What we feel has a lot to do with what we think. Consider the example of David. He was a person who always showed gratitude. What helped you to be grateful? Throughout his life, he meditated on the things that God did. (Psalm 71:5, 17) In a prayer, he said to God: “Medito em todos os teus atos; reflito no trabalho das tuas mãos com vivo interesse.” (Salmo 143:5) That is, he was not a superficial person; he thought about deep issues. This helped him to develop gratitude.

The Bible gives us great advice: "Everything that is true, everything that is kind, everything that is said well, everything that is virtuous and everything that is worthy of praise, keep thinking about these things" (Philippians 4:8). The expression “keep thinking” confirms that, in order to have an attitude of gratitude, we need to take time to think about the positive things we have in our life.

God bless you!
